Sunburns by Cher

Sunburns by Cher
The sun is burning strong these days.  We must be very careful when we are spending time outdoors.  We all know the precautions to take when going to the beach, i.e. sunblock, don't spend too much time in direct sunlight, wear sunglasses, to protect the eyes etc.
However, if you do end up with a sunburn...I have found that the most effective treatment is Aloe!
Now please make sure that the burn is not extreme....if so please seek out medical attention immediately!
There are many products on the market that have aloe in them to soothe the sunburn.  Pure Aloe is the best though, if you can grow Aloe plants and keep them on hand they provide excellent healing for sunburns, as well as minor burns of any kind.  Check out your nearest Walmart, Pharmacy or Department store  for Aloe lotions, the more aloe in the lotion the better it is for you!

Enjoy the Sun, Safely!

Hi Cher,

Yes, aloe is the best remedy for sun burns I've ever found! I always have at least one aloe plant growing in my house.

Another thing I think is important is that people start gradually getting used to the sun, starting in the spring. This way, when they are out for a while they don't have to worry about getting burned. I start going out into the sun starting in May every day or two for at least a half hour. Of course, putting extra virgin olive oil on my skin, as a natural sun screen, works well too! This works as long as you are only out for a couple hours at most. If a person is going to be out all day, a natural sun block would definitely be highly recommended.
