Natural Cures by Cher-Christmas Stress

RELIEVE STRESS AND CALM ANXIETY--(Herbal Remedies) I don't think there is one adult, or maybe even student or child out there who hasn't suffered from stress or anxiety in one form or another. Christmas is the absolute worst time for Stress. We all live fast paced lives and sometime the demands of being a mother/father, student or even a child feeling the stresses of life, can cause us problems. Money, at this time of year, becomes a factor, as well as what to buy for whom and all those crowds. From neck pain to headaches to anxiety and panic attacks, lack of sleep etc...I probably could make a very long list, but that would just stress me out.... One of the best ways to reduce stress is with a proper breathing technique. Now I know most of you out there are saying, yeah, I've tried it , it doesn't work and I say you may be right, but I said the same thing until I did it right. It takes some self training and patience, but when done often it becomes second nature. The best breathing exercise is simply this , no matter where you are, you can do this. Breathe in for a count of 5, the breath should come deep from your abdominal area and fill your lungs in through your nose. Then hold for a count of five, 10 would be better, but make sure you don't pass out, then let it out slowly through your mouth. Repeat this as many times as you like, but don't hyperventilate (that is feel dizzy and can't catch your breath) Now when we are stressed we don't breathe right, our breaths become shorter and don't help us to relax. Also when the breaths are shorter your body isn't lacking oxygen at that time you are lacking carbon dioxide. So when you hold your breath, the more carbon dioxide your body is holding and this calms you down and relaxes you. You see, its not too hard and it can do wonders for your body and mind!
Try to have a stress free Holiday Season!

Natural Cures- Black Cohosh

Natural Cures-Black Cohosh

What is black cohosh? Black cohosh a member of the buttercup family, is a perennial plant that is native to North America. Other common names include black snakeroot, bugbane, bugwort, rattleroot, rattletop, rattleweed, and macrotys.
Insects avoid it, which accounts for some of these common names.

What It Is Used For

Black cohosh has a history of use for rheumatism (arthritis and muscle pain) but has been used more recently to treat hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, and other symptoms that can occur during menopause.
Black cohosh has also been used for menstrual irregularities and premenstrual syndrome, and to induce labor.

It has been known to help with PMS in a big way, although the world of science will tell you that nothing has been proven, as they do with most natural products, the Black cohosh has it's helpfulness with period pain and bloating.

I suffer from PMS and PMDD, the Black Cohosh is very help full with these syndromes.
If you think you suffer from PMDD or Pre-Mentrual Disphoric Disorder, please see a doctor, as there is no cure as of yet, there is help out there.

Black cohosh should not be confused with blue cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides), which has different properties, treatment uses, and side effects than black cohosh. Black cohosh is sometimes used with blue cohosh to stimulate labor, but this therapy has caused adverse effects in newborns, which appear to be due to blue cohosh.

Tell your health care providers about any complementary and alternative practices you use. Give them a full picture of what you do to manage your health. This will help ensure coordinated and safe care.

Please if pregnant or nursing, do not use any natural product without consulting a doctor first.

Here's to a better menstruation cycle, and less of the menstruation phsyco!
