Natural Cures: HONEY LETS TALK ABOUT HONEY

HONEY LETS TALK ABOUT HONEY (Herbal Remedies)
They talk about the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees.........but lets talk about what the bees make and how it can help us.
Honey is a great all natural sweetener! Most of us use refined sugar to sweeten our coffee, cookies, cakes and so on. Refined sugar is not good for us, most of us know this, but we use it because its cheap and widely available to us. This type of sugar can cause all sorts of bad things to our bodys, including weight gain and diabetes. If you want a healthier choice try honey, the bees have already done all the work for us. They made it, they filter out environmental toxins and we just package it. As a sweetener you want to use it sparingly though, honey is sweeter than other sugars, so you need less, also it does carry more calories than refined sugar. So you can use less and not gain the weight.
You can also use Honey for a relaxing bath, put about 2 oz of honey in with some lavender oil in with your bath, and relax and enjoy.
Honey can be used for dressing wounds and releif of hay fever, asthma, bronchitis and other respiratory ailments. Its a great household remedy!
I want to warn you of this, do not give unpasteurized honey to infants. It has a kind of bacteria that can be very dangerous to those younger than one year old!

Bee smart, honey is helpful, but Bee careful with the young ones!

Natural Cures: Relieve Stress and Calm Anxiety

RELIEVE STRESS AND CALM ANXIETY--(Herbal Remedies)
I don't think there is one adult, or maybe even student or child out there who hasn't suffered from stress or anxiety in one form or another. We all live fast paced lives and sometime the demands of being a mother/father, student or even a child feeling the stresses of life, can cause us problems. From neck pain to headaches to anxiety and panic attacks, lack of sleep etc...I probably could make a very long list, but that would just stress me out....

One of the best ways to reduce stress is with a proper breathing technique. Now I know most of you out there are saying, yeah, I've tried it , it doesn't work and I say you may be right, but I said the same thing until I did it right.

It takes some self training and patience, but when done often it becomes second nature.
The best breathing exercise is simply this , no matter where you are, you can do this. Breathe in for a count of 5, the breath should come deep from your abdominal area and fill your lungs in through your nose. Then hold for a count of five, 10 would be better, but make sure you don't pass out, then let it out slowly through your mouth. Repeat this as many times as you like, but don't hyperventalate (that is feel dizzy and can't catch your breath)

Now when we are stressed we don't breathe right, our breaths become shorter and don't help us to relax. Also when the breaths are shorter your body isn't lacking oxygen at that time you are lacking carbon dioxide. So when you hold your breath, the more carbon dioxide your body is holding and this calms you down and relaxes you.

You see, its not too hard and it can do wonders for your body and mind!
